Thumbnail Storyboarding uses quick and rough sketching of ideas that help to visualize the story. Traditional storyboards aid the writer, producer, and director visualize their initial concept through pencil sketches.
Digital storyboards no longer use pencil sketches but the same graphics appearing in the final video or animation. It allows everyone involved to preview what the end product will look like.
